Blood Memory Documentary Screening Presented by CASA of the Continental divide
Join us for an in-person event at The Eclipse Theater in Breckenridge, CO. We are thrilled to present the Blood Memory Documentary Screening: A Story of Removal and Return.
Battles over blood quantum and ‘best interests’ resurface the untold history of America’s Indian Adoption Era - a time when nearly one-third of children were removed from tribal communities nationwide. As political scrutiny over Indian child welfare intensifies, an adoption survivor helps others find their way home through song and ceremony. The film examines the continued impact on those children who were taken from their families during the era, which ran from 1940 to 1978. It also explores the ramifications of those policies on Indigenous families today.

Over the last 42 years Breck Film Festival has built a great reputation with industry filmmakers as THE festival to submit to and attend. At the end of the 4-day festival, we hate to see it come to an end.
Drama, Comedy, Adventure or Documentaries, we want to share a selection of what we and our audiences considered some of the best films of our 2022 festival. Everyone who attends will be entered to win two free festival passes for our 2023 festival, September 21-24. They will be given away at the show!
