What if a movie ticket cost less than your coffee? The Five Dollar Film Series is exactly that — five bucks, iconic films, and a community of people who show up in costume and know every line. Presented in partnership by Breck Film and Breck Create, this is a movie night the way movie nights were meant to be: loud, participatory, and absolutely worth dressing up for.
Each screening brings an iconic cult classic, Colorado favorite, or beloved weird film to the stage at the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge — a venue that transforms the experience from a simple viewing into a full-on event. Think shadow casts. Think costumes. Think The Shining on a October night in the mountains.
After a sold-out Monty Python night and a hometown tribute with Breck Rewind, the 2026 Five Dollar Film Series is just getting started. Three screenings remain — and all of them are worth blocking your calendar for.
Rocky Horror Picture Show

Thursday, June 11 | 9:00pm | Riverwalk Center
With a live Shadow Cast
The one. The only. If you’ve never seen Rocky Horror with a shadow cast, this is your night — and if you have, you already know you’re going. It’s sweet transvestite chaos, audience call-backs, toast-throwing tradition, and one of the most joyful, weird, and welcoming film experiences there is. The shadow cast performs live alongside the film, bringing every moment to life on stage.
Costumes are more than encouraged — they’re kind of the whole point.
BIFA Double Feature: Alice in Wonderland + The Dark Side of the Rainbow

Sunday, August 23 | Two Screenings | Riverwalk Center
1:00pm — Alice in Wonderland | 7:30pm — The Dark Side of the Rainbow
This one’s a double shot. In the afternoon, fall down the rabbit hole with the 1951 Disney classic. Come evening, the night shifts — The Dark Side of the Rainbow pairs Wizard of Oz with Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon in a legendary sync that people have been discovering and rediscovering for decades. Separate tickets for each screening.
Part of the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts (BIFA) — two films, one magical Sunday.
The Shining

Thursday, October 23 | 7:30pm | Riverwalk Center
There are horror films. And then there’s The Shining — Kubrick’s slow-build, big-screen classic that gets under your skin whether you’ve seen it once or a dozen times. October in the mountains, the Riverwalk stage, and Jack Nicholson losing his mind. Costumes highly encouraged. Come with friends. You’ll want them nearby.
Breck Film + Breck Create: A Partnership Built for Breckenridge
The Five Dollar Film Series is a collaboration between Breck Film — Breckenridge’s nonprofit dedicated to film culture, arts education, and the Eclipse Theater — and Breck Create, the arts organization at the heart of the community’s creative life.
Together, we believe that access to great film experiences shouldn’t come with a barrier. Five dollars is a statement: everyone belongs at this movie night.
