About Breck Film Fest 2024 –
An Annual Celebration of Independent Filmmaking
The Breckenridge Film Festival is celebrating its 45th year in the stunning fall of 2025. While we eagerly anticipate the full lineup for this milestone celebration, let’s take a look back at the fun we had at the 44th festival in 2024 to get a taste of what’s to come!
Last year’s festival kicked off with a memorable OPENING NIGHT featuring ¡Casa Bonita Mi Amor! on Thursday, September 19th at The Riverwalk Center. Attendees embraced the spirit by wearing pink to celebrate the beloved Casa Bonita, and some lucky audience members even won prizes donated by the restaurant itself!
The excitement continued with the ADVENTURE REEL: Feel It All & Fly on Friday, September 20th, followed by the SATURDAY SPOTLIGHT film, Magpie, on Saturday, September 21st, both held at The Riverwalk Center. The festival concluded with CLOSING NIGHT: The Fight For Our Planet on Sunday, September 22nd, also at The Riverwalk Center, where the Audience Awards were announced after a thought-provoking Q&A.

Breck Film – A History and Tradition
The Breckenridge Festival of Film was founded in 1981. In 2020, the festival underwent a transformation, rebranding as Breck Film. Originally known as a one-time annual event, it has since flourished into a prominent arts non-profit complete with its own movie theater through the gracious support from donors and creatives both locally and across the US. The Film Festival remains the focal point and highlight of Breck Film and Breckenridge culture.
