All movies are great, but we have to admit that there’s something magical about summer movies. They’re just bigger and bolder, and 2025 is shaping up to be incredible for blockbuster movie lovers.
While you’re making your summer plans, make sure to sneak in one (or all ) of the upcoming summer movie showings at the Eclipse Theater in Breckenridge. Our small town theater brings big fun to the area, and we’re proud to be showing some of the best films this summer.

Lilo & Stitch (Now Playing Through June 12)
We’re kicking off summer with pure ohana vibes! This remake of the classic Disney story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien is exactly the kind of film that reminds us why we love going to the movies together.
We love he film’s message – that family means nobody gets left behind – because it fits so well with the community we live in here in Breck. And what’s better than watching your kids crack up at Stitch’s antics? Warning – this one’s a secret tearjerker, especially for those who watched the original as a kid and now have kids of their own!
Catch it before June 12th – because some movies are meant to be seen with your chosen ohana. Grab your tickets online here.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (June 13-26)
Just when you thought Tom Cruise couldn’t push the envelope any further, he’s back for what’s being billed as Ethan Hunt’s final mission. (We’ll believe it when we see it!)
Mission: Impossible looks to be the tried-and-true action movie formula. After decades of death-defying stunts and globe-trotting adventures, the IMF team faces its most dangerous challenge yet: a rogue AI that threatens all of humanity. (Which seems a bit too close to home these days!)
A Mission: Impossible film deserves more than your laptop screen. Even if you’re new to the franchise, the stunts and action itself are enough to get you hooked.
Mark your calendars for June 13th and prepare for Ethan Hunt’s last ride.
28 Years Later (June 20)
You may not think “horror movie” when you see a summer movie blockbuster, but there’s always one or two scary movies to balance out the action and comedies.
In 28 Years Later, director Danny Boyle returns to the franchise that redefined zombie horror. Set nearly three decades after the rage virus first escaped, this new chapter explores how survivors have adapted to life among the infected – and what new horrors have evolved in the darkness.
This one may not be quite the family-friendly summer movie, but if you’re looking for a thrill – or are a longtime franchise fan – you won’t want to miss this next installment.
F1 (June 27 – July 10)
F1 has been in the movie buzz for a long time, and now it’s finally seeing its theatrical release.
Brad Pitt straps into the driver’s seat for this high-octane racing drama as Sonny Hayes, a once-promising Formula 1 driver seeking redemption decades after a career-ending crash.
Racing films need the big screen treatment. And the film combines Pitt’s acting and storytelling power with real F1 footage shot during Grand Prix weekends.
As Sonny learns to work with his team’s hotshot rookie, the themes of mentorship and redemption remind us that sometimes the best victories come from lifting others. That’s the kind of spirit we try to maintain here in Breck – and we’re firm believers in the power of film to spread messages of hope!
Superman (July 11-24)
Another superhero movie? Of course, what would be a summer blockbuster without at least one Marvel or DC film?
The Man of Steel returns to theaters in what’s being called a fresh take on the iconic hero. Directed by new DC cinematic universe head James Gunn, this new Superman story is all about reconciling where you come from with where you belong. (Plus, Superman has a Superdog – it doesn’t get much better than that!)
Superman stories have always resonated in small communities like ours. There’s something about the Kansas farm boy with extraordinary abilities choosing to help others that speaks to our mountain town values. In an era of morally complex antiheroes, sometimes we need a reminder that doing the right thing simply because it’s right still matters.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25)
We said there had to be one or two superhero movies, right? Well, here’s the second of the summer: The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
It’s been a while since the original 2005 Fantastic Four, and now Marvel’s first family finally gets the treatment they deserve! Director Matt Shakman is bringing a new vision that promises to capture the heart, humor, and cosmic adventure that made the Fantastic Four beloved for decades.
With Galactus and Silver Surfer as the antagonists, we’re bound to get some great storytelling and visuals – Marvel’s usual forte. Plus, it marks the start of another storyline (or timeline, or maybe multiverse?) in the ongoing Marvel compendium – so you won’t want to miss out.
